Mobile Phone Tests Liver Function

Telecoms Korea reports about a new sensor allows patients to check their liver function and send the result to hospitals via mobile network.

"Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology developed an electric-chemical sensor that measures GOT and GPT, the key indicators of liver function test. Being connected to mobile device, the sensor activates the device for monitoring the patient’s liver condition regularly and sending data to hospitals, and thereby contributes to health improvement.The research team filed patents for the mobile liver function test technology in Korea and abroad and will commercialize the technology in the future."
