The Portégé G810 is an intriguing PocketPC offer by Toshiba. If we're to suggest a reference point for this touchscreen PDA, we couldn't even dream of a more suitable nominee than the HTC Touch Cruise. A brief look at the specs is enough to convince that the two devices have a great deal of similarities, from physical size to the processor that powers them. In the same time, G810 does stand out among Toshiba PocketPCs, marking a distinct departure from the full-QWERTY Toshiba Portégé G900.
Toshiba Portégé G810 is a global phone, with support for both quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA. The high-end device runs on Windows Mobile Professional OS.
G810 is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7200 (400MHz) processor, utilizing 256MB of ROM and 128MB RAM. The Li-Ion battery of 1530 mAh capacity is quoted at 200 hours in standby and 4 hours of talk time. microSD memory expansion is available (up to 4GB cards supported).
The large 2.83" QVGA touch screen and the enhanced user interface make the experience of navigation and access to applications simple and easy. The G810's large screen also ensures the user can see more information with less scrolling, helping to bring the ideal web 2.0 and Windows Mobile experience in the palm of the hand. The built-in GPS and A-GPS function also allows the user to map out location and directions from A to B in seconds, perfect for the busy traveler trying to find their way in a city or new town/country.
